How long do commission cuttings take?
It all depends on the complexity of a cutting design. Averagely, commission cuttings can take between 1-3 weeks (and longer if the cutting is required to be framed). Generally, the more notice given the better. If you have a short deadline, please don't hesitate in getting in contact as she will try her best to accommodate your requirements.
Is everything handcut?
Yes, all commission cuttings are hand drawn and hand cut by Lydia herself.
What can I have on my commission cutting?
Absolutely anything! The possibilities are endless. For example, names, dates, places, hobbies, holidays and other details that are special. They are also all a good place to start when designing a cutting, so do tell Lydia if there is anything that is special to you.

Can I get my cutting framed?
Yes. Lydia can have the cutting framed for you by her local independent framer. The frames are bespoke solid oak box frames and they complement her cuttings beautifully.
Alternatively, you can frame the cutting
yourself. All Lydia’s cuttings are made to fit standard shop bought
frame sizes.
N.B. please be aware that it can take up to 3 weeks to have a cutting framed by Lydia's framing man. P & P can increase due to sending a framed item too. Lydia will discuss this with you during the designing stage of your cutting.
What colour can my commission cutting be?
Any colour you like. Lydia has 2 styles of commission cuttings, one that is cut out of coloured card and the other that is hand painted after being cut.
What colour will the background of the cutting be?
Lydia usually uses off-white mount board to mount her cuttings but if you would like a different colour, please let her know.
How do I pay for my cutting?
Payment can be made via PayPal or Bank Transfer. Full payment will be required once the paper cutting design has been approve.
How are commission items posted and how much does it cost?
Unframed cuttings will be shipped flat in a cellophane envelope within a rigid cardboard envelope. Framed items will be package with bubble wrap in a large box. All commissions are sent via a trackable post service (Royal Mail). The cost for sending commission pieces varies depending on the size and weight of the item. Lydia will give you an estimate pricing for shipping at the start of the cutting design process so there are no hidden costs. Please keep in mind that there may be import duty on overseas shipments.
